Ingredients
3 c sliced ham (1" pieces)
10 large potatoes (fill 9"x13" pan)
1 large Spanish onion
3 c cold milk
2 T cornstarch
2 T butter
salt (optional)
pepper (optional)
Preparation
Sauce:
Mix 2 c milk, cornstarch, butter, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil then add last cup of milk.
Potatoes:
Grease 9"x13" pan. Cut potatoes into thin slices and onions into small pieces. In a casserole dish, alternate 1/4" deep layers of ham, potatoes, then onions, ending with potatoes. Tuck potatoes in on the edges and pour sauce over the casserole. Cook at 375 degrees for 15 minutes and 350 degrees for 1.5 hours. Done when the potatoes are tender.
