Date Balls

Ingredients

• • 1 1/4 c sifted flour

  • 1/4 t salt

  • 1/2 c oleo/butter

  • 1/2 c sifted confectioners sugar

  • 1 T milk

  • 1 t vanilla

  • 2/3 c chopped dates

  • 1/2 c chopped nuts

  • confectioners sugar for coating

Preparation

Combine flour and salt and sift twice. Cream oleo/butter and add sugar gradually. Add milk and vanilla and stir in the sifted flour. Blend in dates and nuts. Roll in 1" balls. Place about 3" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 300 degrees or until light brown. While still warm, roll in confectioners sugar.
