Ingredients
1 c oleo/butter
2 c sugar
1/2 pt sour cream
3 c sifted flour
6 whole eggs
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 t lemon extract or lemon juice
1 t vanilla
1/2 c chopped nuts
1/2 c brown sugar
Preparation
Grease and flour 9" tube pan.
Mix nuts and brown sugar for topping and set aside.
Cream sugar and oleo/butter. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together and add gradually. Add the sour cream and blend well. Last: add the vanilla and lemon and blend. Pour half of batter into pan and sprinkle with half of the nut-sugar mixture. Pour balance of the batter and sprinkle with remainder of the nut-sugar mixture. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Cool on rack then turn out of pan to cool.
